Iraq’s Liberals Group demands suing those behind escape of Al-Qaeda detainees in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s al-Ahrar (Liberals) Group in southern Iraq’s Basra Province has demanded the suing of the elements, involved in the issue of the escape of al-Qaeda Organization’s members from the province’s Presidential Palace’s prison, according to a statement issued by the Group on Monday. “The Occupation forces have planted some elements inside the Iraqi security forces to implement their policies,” Mazin al-Maziny said in his statement, copy of which landed in IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that “there had been some compromise between the security authorities and the criminals, who represent a real threat to the country’s security, necessitating the suing of those involved in the case.” Noteworthy is that 13 al-Qaeda members have managed to escape from the said prison in Basra last Friday, 14/1/2011, despite intensive security measures in their detention place, according to the Legislature in the National Alliance, Hussin Taleb, who pointed out that the defendants had confessed carrying out several terrorist acts. He said that the detainees have managed to escape despite intensive decurity measures, calling for the opening of an investigation in the issue. (ST) / SKH 291
