Interior ministry official escapes attempt in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi interior ministry official in Ninewa survived an assassination attempt with an improvised explosive device (IED) in eastern Mosul city on Saturday, a local security source said. “An IED went off in al-Maliya neighborhood, eastern Mosul, targeting the motorcade of Brig. Saad Sheebo, the director of the interior ministry’s Ninewa inspector general office,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The blast left no casualties but caused severe damage to Sheebo’s vehicle,” he added, not giving more information. Mosul, the capital city of the violence-scarred province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AmR (P) 485
