Victims of Karbala explosions last week reach 33 killed

  KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The victims of the bloody explosions that struck the Shiite holy city of Karbala at the end of last week have reached 33 people killed and 203 others wounded, according to the Director -General of Karbala Health Department on Sunday “The result of the explosions, witnessed by Karbala city last Thursday, had reached 33 martyrs, including 27 civilians, one army man, 4 women and one child, along with an Iranian visitor” Alaa Hammoud Bider told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that the number of wounded persons had reached 203, including 148 civilians, 3 military personnel, 48 women, 4 children and one Iranian visitor. The Holy City of Karbala had witnessed on Thursday, 20/1/2011, two explosions in two different parts of the city, the first close to an inspection point north of the city and the second close to a checkpoint south of the city, killing 28 visitors for the holy shrines and wounding 203 others.
