Vatican Ambassador to Baghdad expresses satisfaction for Christians treatment in Iraqi Kurdistan:

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Vatican’s Papal Ambassador to Baghdad, Rev. Georgio Lingua, has expressed satisfaction for the treatment of Christians in north Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, who he said were enjoying “good security and living circumstances,” whilst Kurdistan’s Minister of Endowment & Religious Affairs, Kamel al-Haj Ali, said that “oppression that Kurdistan people had suffered from in the past had made  Kurdistan Region to open doors for Christians, in order to ease their sufferings. Amassador lingua, in statements to reporters, including IraqiNews.com news agency correspondent, after his arrival in Arbil on Tuesday and his meeting with the Kurdish Minister, said that his visit “aims at following up the conditions of Christians, who have moved to Iraqi Kurdistan,” pointing out that he had spoken to the Reverand of Arbil’s Ainkawa district, and he “had become very happy for the conditions of Christians in Kurdistan, who enjoy good security and living conditions,” expressing hope that “other parts of Iraq would enjoy similar security to that existing in Kurdistan, to avoid that anybody would be forced to leave his home or working place.” The Papal Ambassador is scheduled to confer during his visit with Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani, Premier Barham Ahmed Saleh, Parliament Speaker, Kamal Kirkukly and other high-ranking officials, as well as attending a religious paryer in Mar Joseph Chruch in Ainkawa district.
