Talabani – Barzani renew commitment to their strategic agreement:

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The two ruling parties in north Iraq‘s Kurdistan Region have reiterated their commitment to the strategic agreement concluded between the two parties and to activate its articles, during a meeting in Arbil on Thursday, reaffirming necessity to improve the conditions of the Region’s citizens, close the gaps and activate the Parliament and the Government of the Region.  “A meeting in Arbil’s Salahaddin Resort that joined together the Leaders of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), led by Massoud Barzani and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), led by Jalal Talabani, has discussed the bilateral relations between both Parties and the strategic agreement concluded between them, along with the political issues related to Kurdistan Region and Iraq,” the KDP’s media center reported in a statement on Friday. The statement added that “the meeting, represented by Massoud Barzani for the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Deputy Chairman of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Kosrat Rassoul, have renewed the two parties commitment to the strategic agreement, conclulded between them and taking decisions to activate their alliance.” The KDP’s Secretary, Fadhil Mirani, told IraqiNews.com after the meeting that “it had discussed the prequisites of the current phase and circumstances passing on Kurdistan Region and the whole Region, as well as improving the conditions of its citizens in all fields, and it had also confirmed commitment to the said strategic agreement, discussing the bilateral relations, at a time when evil elements hope to create a loophole in their relations, whilst our friends are expressing anxiety towards them.” ST / SKH 903
