Iraq receives remains of 38 Iraqi soldiers from Iran:

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The remains of 38 Iraqi soldiers, killed during the eight-year IraqIran war that ended in 1988, have arrived in Iraq‘s town of Shalamja on the Iranian borders, the Human Rights Director in Basra Province reported on Tuesday. “The Iranian side has handed over the Iraqi side the remains of 38 Iraqi soldiers, killed during the IraqIran war, through the Shalamja border point,” Mahdi al-Tamimi said, adding that the handing over did not take place on exchange basis, as used to happen in the past, adding that “identities of some of the corpses were known, but others were not known.” Iran and Iran had waged a cruel war that continued for 8 years, from September, 1980 to August, 1988, considered one of the longest wars in the 20th century, that led to the killing of about one million people and caused  losses, estimated in billions (b) of US dollars. Basra, the center of the province carrying the same name, is 590 kms to the south of Baghdad.
