16 persons wounded in demonstrations in Wassit – medic
WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A total of 16 persons were wounded on Wednesday in the protests that hit Kut today, according to director of Wassit health department. “The accurate statistics indicate that 16 persons were wounded in the demonstrations that hit Kut today,” Dr. Diyaa al-Abboudi told IraqiNews.com news agency, denying reports assert that one protester was killed and 27 were wounded in the incidents. He urged media to be more accurate and neutral in covering the incidents. Hundreds of protesters staged a demonstration today in front of the local council’s building, calling for improving services and holding corrupt officials accountable.
