Demonstrators brake through Wassit Province’s Building:

  WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A group of angry demonstrators have broken through the building of southern Iraq’s Wassit Province in Kut city and burned its information office, on Wednessday, thing that made the police to open live fire that wounded a number of them, an eyewitness said. “A large group of demonstrators have broken through the building of Wassit Province, attacked it with stones, broke its windows and burnt its information office,” the eyewitness told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that the police forces “were forced to open live fire in order to keep the demonstrators away from the building, thing that wounded some of them.” IraqiNews.com tried to contact the officials of the Province’s building, but a source, who asked not to be named, said that “all the rooms in the Province’s building had been evacuated by the officials.” Hundreds of citizens of Kut, the center of Wassit Province, had demonstrated in front of its Province’s building to improve services and account the officials, whilst some of them boke through the building, destroying its windows, thing that made the police open fire in the air. After that the demonstrators set fire to the guards cabin of the Province’s Council building, preventing the police and fire-extinuishing cars to approach the area to put off the fire, according to an eyewiness. Kut, the center of Wassit Province, is 180 kms to the northeast of Baghdad. 493
