Muslim cleric killed in Ninewa

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A Muslim cleric was killed by a group of unidentified gunmen in northern Iraq’s Ninewa province on Thursday, according to a local security source. “A group of armed men shot dead Sheikh Ali Fakhri in front of his house in Rashidiya township, north of Mosul, on Thursday,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said Fakhri “was praying when the armed men opened fire on him and escaped to an an unknown place.” Mosul, the capital city of the unrest-stricken province of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
