Kurdistan Goran (Change) Movement charge Kurdistan Democratic Party with burning their HQ in Shaqlawa:

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: North Iraq’s Kurdistan opposition Goran (Change) Movement has charged the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) with having been behind the burning of its headquarters in northern Arbil’s Shaqlawa resort on 19/2/2011, whilst the resort’s mayor said that the cause of the fire had been an electrical fault. “The KDP authorities, away from the law, patriotic, national and democratic principles, have burnt the headquarters of Goran (Change) Movement in Shaqlawa resort, which is legally licensed,” a Goran Movement’s statement in Shaqlawa said. The statement said: “Whilst we shall resort to the law for the illegal act against our headquarters, we demand the Kurdistan Parliament and the legitimate authorities to issue a law banning attacks against our headquarters, for whatever reason.” Shaqlawa’s Mayor, Dilawar Umar, told IraqiNews.com news agency that “the fire in the said headquarters took place due to an electrical fault.” “The incident was not caused by an intentional act, and the police and the Asayish (Kurdish security) have been protecting the place over the past few days,” he said.
