Basra council to question governor

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The Basra council on Monday decided to question Governor Shaltagh Abboud, according to the council’s media director. “The council decided today by a majority of vote (21 votes) to question Governor Shaltagh Abboud,” Hashem Laaibi told IraqiNews.com news agency, noting that the council will question the governor on 18 points. The Basra council consists of 36 members, including 20 from the Dalwlat al-Qanoon List, which the governor belongs to. Basra is 590 km south of Baghdad. SH (TP) 575
