Iraq’s Council of Ministers to hold emergency session Sunday, spokesman says:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Council of Ministers has decided to hold an emergency session on Sunday to boost the activity of different ministries and provinces councils and laying down urgent executive plans to achieve that, the Iraqi government’s official spokesman, Ali Al-Dabbagh said on Saturday. The Iraqi capital of Baghdad had witnessed broad mass demonstrations in central Baghdad‘s al-Tahrir (Liberation) Square, demanding the improvement of services, causing the injury of two of the demonstrators and seven policemen, according to official security sources. Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has stated on Friday that he would follow up the demands of citizens and implement all issues that are under his responsibility, along with following up the activity of the ministers and local administrations, in order to commit them to implement their promisess for the citizens, pointing out that investigations would be carried out about the violations that took place in certain areas, during Friday demonstrtions.
