Tribal Chieftain in north Iraq’s Ninewa Provice condemns killing some demonstrators in Iraq

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Chieftain of north Iraq Ninewa’s “Albu-Badran” Tribe, Sheikh Barzan al-Badrany, has strongly condemned the killing of dmonstrators in Iraq, including Ninewa Province, last Friday, demanding Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to hand over the “killers of the demonstrators” in Mosul, for his tribe, “according to tribal tradtitions.”   Sheikh Barzan al-Badrany, said in a statement he read on Sunday, during a mourning procession for two demonstrators, called Khudhier Khalil al-Badrany and Muthanna al-Badrany, who were among six persons, killed during a demonstration in Mosul on Friday: “We condemn the criminal act, carried out by some evil elements, included in the security forces, who opened fire on unarmed demonstrators, who took to the streets peacefully, demanding their rights and the rights of the Iraqi people.”    Sheikh Badrany also demanded Prime Minister Maliki to “carry out an immediate and urgent investigation to discover the elements involved in the killings and to hand them over for his tribe, according to the tribal traditions, in order to punish them, according to those traditions.”   At least 6 demosntrators have been killed and 15 others were wounded, when fire was opened on the demonstrators in front of the Ninewa Provincial Council last Friday.   Mosul, the center of Ninewa Province, is 405 kms to the north of Baghdad.   PT / SKH 390
