Iraq records highest oil exports last February – official

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com – Iraq ’s oil exports have registered a record figure last February, during which it exported 61 millions and 656,000 barrels, despite fact that the month had been 28 days only, the official spokesman of the Iraqi Oil Ministry said on Tuesday.   “ Iraq ’s average daily exports during February had reached 2 millions and 202,000 barrels per day (bpd), being the largest daily export figure since 2003,” the Oil Ministry’s Official Spokesman, Assem Jihad told IraqiNews.com news agency, expecting higher export and production rates in the forthcoming months. Jihad said that the oil exported during the month of February had registered U.S.$5 billions (b) and 980,000 millions, including U.S.$47 millions and 824,000 barrels sold from the country’s southern oil fields, with an average of 1 million and 708,000 bpd, sold for U.S.$4 billions (b) and 638,000.   He said that the quantities exported from north Iraq’s Kirkuk oil fields, through Turkey’s Ceyhan Terminal on the Mediterranean, and by mobile oil tankers through Jordan, had reached 13 millions and 832,000 barrels, sold for U.S.$ one billion (b) and 341,000 dollars, with a daily average of 494,000 bpd, confirming that the Oil Ministry “is marching forward to improve the average production, adding that the current high oil prices would raise the revenues ceiling, compared to the figures included in the country’s new federal budget.   IT / SKH 615
