Parliament’s session convenes to discuss salaries of high-ranking officials

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com – The Iraqi Parliament’s session has opened in Baghdad on Saturday to discuss the salaries and allocations of the three high-ranking presidencies, a Parliament’s media source said.   “The Parliament’s session has began today (Saturday), under chairmanship of the Parliament’s Speaker, Usama al-Nujeify, and attendance of 230 MPs, to discuss the first reading to decrease the salaries and allocations of the President, his deputies, Prime Minister, his deputies, Parliament members, ministers, under-secretaries and other leading officials,” the source told Aswar al-Iraq news agency. He said the Parliament’s session “is also scheduled to discuss the first reading of the financial observation law, the integrity commission’s law, as well as summoning the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Hussein al-Shahrestany, as well as the ministers of electricity and oil.
