Iraqi-Italian talks for boosting cultural, economic relations

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Chairman of the Iraqi Parliament’s Foreign Relations Committee, Humam Hammoudy, has discussed means of developing joint cultural relations between Iraq and Italy with a visiting Italian Parliamentary delegation, a Committee’s statement reported on Monday.   “Iraq is keen to develop relations with Italy and strives to build up strong relations with its friendly people,” the statement pointed out.  The Chairman of the Committee’s Department for Relations with Europe and America, Sadiq al-Rikaby, said that “the current joint relations between Iraq and Italy encourages joint action to build up popular relations through joint friendship committees.”   Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Iraqi-Italian Friendship Committee, Legislature Imad Youkhanna, said that “the joint relations between the two countries are strong enough to help their further development to serve the joint interests of both peoples.”   SKH (TI)/SR 405
