Turkish Prime Minister in Baghdad for official visit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Turkey’s Prime Minister, Receb Tayyip Erdogan, has arrived in Baghdad on Monday for an official visit, the semi-official al-Iraqiya TV Channel reported. The Turkish World News Agency had quoted Erdogan as saying that he would visit Iraq, leading a high-level economic delegation, aimed at boosting economic and trade relations between both countries. Erdogan’s visit to Baghdad is taking place at a time when Iraqi-Turkish relations is rising on both political and economic levels, supported by the conclusion of several agreements over the past three years, aimed at rising the level of joint cooperation in the economic, transportation, trade and agricultural exchange. The Turkish Prime Minister paid two visits to Iraq in 2008 and 2009. These visits helped improve joint relations between both countries and the settlement of the suspended dossiers on the security and political levels.   SKH (TI)/SR 430
