ID1b earmarked for new projects in Missan marshes

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi government appropriated 12 billion Iraqi Dinars (ID) to carry out new service projects for in the marshland areas in Missan, according to a local official in the province on Saturday. “The central government, as part of the 2011 marshes development project program, allocated 12 billion dinars for projects serving local residents in the wetlands in eastern and western Missan,” Jasseb Kadhem, the chairman of the Missan provincial council’s marshes development committee, told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The sum will be added to an earlier one endorsed for these areas as part of the 2011 marshes development program, which involves 50 billion dinars in total,” he added. The new funds will envisage the construction of a cancer center in addition t other projects in the sectors of water resources, electricity, water and roads. Missan is 390 km south of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.   AmR (TP)/SR 523
