Largest rubbish processing plant in Mideast opened in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The biggest rubbish processing plant in the Middle East was opened on Wednesday in Baghdad by a Turkish company, according to the Municipality of Baghdad. “Deputy Baghdad Mayor Naeem al-Kaabi on Wednesday opened al-Sadr waste processing plant in al-Habibiya region, making it the largest in the Middle East. It was designed by a Turkish company at a cost of 26 billion dinars within 20 months,” the media office of the Municipality of Baghdad said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The projects will serve Sadr City and municipalities in al-Rusafa region by gathering garbage and pressing it in closed containers before sending the compressed rubbish away,” it added.
