6 wounded in two IED blasts in Baghdad

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Six persons have been injured in two improvised explosive device (IED) blasts in southern and central Baghdad on Sunday, a security source reported. “An IED, stuck to a civilian car blew up on the main road passing through southern Baghdad’s Mahmoudiya township, wounding its two passengers and causing damage to the car,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said the security forces had imposed a cordon around the venue of the blast and drove the wounded persons to hospital for treatment. “Four other persons, including policemen, have been injured in an IED explosion, planted on the roadside, close to the International Railway Station in central Baghdad’s Alawi district,” he said, adding that the injured persons were driven to a nearby hospital for treatment.   SKH (TS)/SR 665
