Meeting calls for activating parliament’s supervising role

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Head of the Iraqi National Conference party, Ahmad Al-Chalabi, Head of the al-Iraqiya List, Iyad Allawi and leading figure of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Aadel Abdulmahdi, on Monday called for activating the supervising role of the parliament, according to a statement of Chalabi’s party.

“The trilateral meeting tackled the latest developments in Iraq and the whole region,” said the statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The three officials underlined the importance of activating the parliament’s supervising role over the executive authority and evaluating the government institutions’ performance,” the statement added.
