Detained Baathist recruited Arab terrorists – Karbala council

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: The former Baath party leader, who was detained in Baghdad and sent to Karbala security authorities, proved to having recruited Arab terrorists and sent them to Iraq, chairman of the Karbala council said on Thursday. “Security authorities in Karbala received Baathist Abdullatief al-Darmi, who was one of the most important figures in the Karbala province,” Mohammad al-Moussawi told reporters, including IraqiNews.com news agency. “Preliminary investigation proved that al-Darmi was recruiting Arab terrorists in Syria and Jordan and sent them to Iraq to implement terrorist operations and fight Iraqis,” he added. Al-Moussawi had said earlier that security forces arrested al-Darmi in al-Aadhamiya region in northern Baghdad.   SH (TP)/SR   823
