Anbar’s Traffic Police Director escapes assassination attempt

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: The Traffic Police Director of western Iraq’s Anbar Province, has escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday, whilst a police officer was injured in an attack in Ramadi, the center of the Province, an Anbar Police source said. “An explosive charge, planted on the roadside west of Ramadi city, blew off on Sunday against a motorcade of Anbar Province’s Traffic Police Director, Brigadier Hamad al-Duleimy, who escaped the attack, that did not cause any casualties, but damaged one of the motorcade’s cars,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. The security source also said that a police officer, with captain rank, was injured by an explosive charge that blew off against his patrol in central Ramadi on Sunday. Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, is 160 km to the west of Baghdad. SKH (ST)/SR 721
