6 wanted men detained in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: Six wanted men were arrested on Wednesday, while a bomb exploded in the city of Kirkuk without casualties, chief of Kirkuk Districts Police Department (KDPD) said. “A joint campaign of KDPD and army forces, backed by U.S. personnel, was launched today in villages in al-Huweija district, southwest of Kirkuk, where two wanted men were arrested,” Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Four more wanted persons were arrested in separate areas in Kirkuk,” he added. “The detainees are members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Ansar al-Sunna, who kidnapped more than 10 persons, including Christians,” he said. “A police force found a bomb on Baghdad road, in southern Kirkuk, and experts managed to detonate it without casualties,” a source from the joint coordination center said.
