NOC imposes curfew in Mosul as protestors go on strike

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: The Ninewa Operations Command announced on Thursday a curfew in the city of Mosul as tribes went on strike, according to a security source. “The NOC imposed the curfew suddenly as of this dawn, in addition to a ban on vehicles,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. “The ban comes as tribes in Ninewa announced from al-Ahrar square that Thursday will be a strike day in all government’s departments,” he added. Hundreds of people gathered in al-Ahrar square in central Mosul to express frustration with the presence of U.S. military forces. SH (TP) 589
