Iraqi Integrity Comission employee injured in central Basra blast

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: An Iraqi Integrity Commission employee has been injured in an explosive charge blast in southern Iraq’s city of Basra, the city’s police media director said on Tuesday. “An explosive charge blew up close to the house of an employee of Basra’s Integrity Commission, wounding him and causing damage to his car,” Lt. Brigadier, Abdul-Karim al-Zaidy told IraqiNews.com news agency. Zaidy said that Basra Security forces have managed to detain 10 wanted persons, including 5 women, who had burglarized locations in al-Dair district, 35 km to the north of the city. Meanwhile, a Basra security source said that the U.S. base in Basra Airport had been attacked by 5 Katyusha rockets, causing no human casualties. Basra, the center of the Province carrying the same name, is 590 km to the south of Baghdad. SKH (TS)/SR   724
