No agreement signed with Turkey for increase in water share

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Agriculture Minister said that the Turkish side did not sign any agreement with Iraq to increase its water share.  In a joint press conference with an Iraqi government spokesman, he added that “the shortage of water supply led to the deterioration of agriculture in the country for the last years.”  Minister Iziddin Al-Doula pointed out that the government paid greater attention to the agricultural sector through granting loans, usage of green houses and seeds that endure salty lands.  He added that the Ministry demanded from the government not to import potato and tomato products, because Iraqi production covers 80% of the market needs.  RM (TP)/SR 543
