750 megawatt power station approved in Diala

DIALA / IraqiNews.com: The Iraq Cabinet approved the establishment of a 750 megawatt power station in Diala, the governor’s adviser announced today. Adviser for Reconstruction and Investment Rasim Ismael told IraqiNews.com that the local government received the Cabinet’s approval to erect the station in Himreen area, 155 km northeast of Baaquba. The station shall be built by a specialized French company he noted. The real electricity need of the province reached to 580 megawatts. The province depends on the Iranian electricity supply line, which only suffices 30 percent of its total need. Baaquba, the center of Diala province, lies 57 km north east of the capital, Baghdad.
