North Iraq Kurdistan’?s Premier discusses security situation with Deputy Commander of U.S. troops

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: North Iraq Kurdistan Region’s Premier, Barham Ahmed Saleh, has conferred in Arbil on Wednesday with the Deputy Commander of the U.S. Forces in Iraq, General Frank Hillmick, on the current security and political situation in Iraq, according to a Region’s statement. “Kurdistan Region’s Premier, Dr. Barham Ahmed Saleh, has conferred in Arbil with the Deputy Commander of the U.S. Forces in Iraq, General Frank Hillmick, with the presence of Kurdistan’s Deputy-Premier, Sheikh Jaafar Karim Shinkaly and the Kurdish Peshmerga Minister, Jaafar Sheikh Mustapha, on the current political situation in Iraq in general and the security conditions in particular,” the statement pointed out. The statement added that “both sides have reconfirmed necessity to fill in the vacant security cabinet posts, absence of whom undermines the security and stability of Iraq, as well as the role of the American forces to train and rehabilitate the Iraqi security bodies and to help in the process of unifying the Peshmerga forces with the Iraqi Defense System.”  SKH (IT) 532
