US convoy hit by a bomb in Basra

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: The media office in Basra province reported that a U.S. convoy near Basra airport was the target of a bomb planted on the road.   No reports on the casualties were disclosed.   The source informed IraqiNews.com that Basra‘s security forces conducted several search raids in the province that led to the arrest of 22 persons wanted for different crime, as well capturing 10,000 banknotes of counterfeit currency.   Basra lies 590 km south of the capital, Baghdad.
