Honorary membership for Iraqi professor in iron forum

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iron and Steel International Forum granted an Iraqi professor an honorary membership for his thesis for using clean energy in steel industry.   In a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Jaleel Kareem of Babel University received the honorary membership following his participation in the forum. The forum was held in the U.S., with the attendance of 8000 scientists and engineers from different countries.   Head of Babel University Dr. Nabeel al-A’raji stated that “this proves that Iraq is the first to announce the use of clean energy in the iron industry.”   He called upon the Iraqi government to adopt a political decision so that Iraq will be side by side with the developed countries in using this energy.   The thesis discussed using water instead of natural gas, with special calculations to use one million tons of iron annually.
