Al-Iraqiya Leader charges Iran with being behind the greatest role in Iraq’s developments

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Leader of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi, has charged Iran with having played the greatest role in the developments taking place in Iraq nowadays, expressing surprise for the silence of the International Community and the pan-Arab position towards that.   Allawi, in an interview with ‘Al-Arab Today’s electronic site on Saturday said: “the postponement, followed by (Prime Minister) Maliki and his aids to ignore the Arbil Agreement and the silence of the International Community towards the great role, played by Iran towards the developments in Iraq, in the absence of the pan-Arab position, have been strange.”   Allawi said he would lean to the Iraqi judiciary and study possibility to lean to the International Judiciary, to “uncover the real problems, facing the Iraqi people and those standing behind them.”   He did not exclude the idea of returning to dialogue “for the interest of Iraq, its people and the whole Region, because they stand above any other consideration, but under condition that it would be achieved through respect of the opinion and opposite opinion, as well as respect of agreements.”       The political crisis, passing over the country since more than 14 months between the State of Law and al-Iraqiya Coalitions, that took place after the demonstrations that took place in central Baghdad’s al-Tahrir Square on 10/6/2011 and the   demonstrations, that took place under the government’s patronage, demanding the execution of the criminals, who carried out a massacre in Dujeil township and accounting the politicians, charged with having been behind it, were considered by al-Iraqiya as having been pinpointed against the Coalition and its Leader, Iyad Allawi, as well as instigating the restoration of narrow-sectarianism, aimed at returning Iraq back to the years of tension – 2006 and 2007.   But the crisis had entered a new phase after the statements by al-Iraqiya Leader, Iyad Allawi, in which he waged a strong attack against Prime minister Nouri al-Maliki and his al-Daawa Party, and warning against the policy of “forcing mouths to shut down and the emergence of a new dictatorship.”   Maliki’s al-Daawa Party, on its part, had launched an immediate reaction, announcing to raise a judicial case against Allawi, charging   him with accusing al-Daawa Party and its leaders, with “false accusations.”   SKH (FT)
