North Iraq Ninewa’s Governor demands “share” for his Province in Iraqi Army

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: North Iraq Ninewa’s Governor, Atheal al-Nujeify, has demanded that Ninewa Province have a “share” in the Iraqi Army, coping with its inhabitants capacity, according to a source at his office on Sunday.   “Ninewa Governor, Atheal al-Nujeify, had reiterated in a meeting with a number of former Iraqi Army officers at his office on Sunday, on necessity to restore the balance in the Iraqi Army and that Ninewa Province must have a share that coincides with the capacity of its inhabitants,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The source quoted Nijeify as having confirmed that the said issue “was logical, and being part of the difference among political blocs, according to Arbil Agreement, signed between different political parties.”   “Nujeify had listened to a number of former officers, who spoke about their suffering and demanding Ninewa’s local administration to follow up their rights, whether granting them pensions or end-of-service bonuses, as well as the formation of a special society that cares for the affairs of the retired officers and Army personnel, which should have service and consultative studies.”   Mosul , the center of Ninewa Province , is 405 km to the north of Baghdad .   SKH (IT) 345
