Cop kills civilian on “revenge” reasons in Wassit, south Iraq

WASSIT / IraqiNews.com: A policeman has killed a civilian on ”revenge” reasons in south Iraq’s Wassit Province on Tuesday, according to a security source in Kut.   “A policeman opened fire from a pistol, fixed with silencer, on Tuesday evening on a civilian for “revenge” reasons, in Nu’amaniya township, 40 km to the north of Kut, the center of Wassit Province , killing him on the spot,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the police had managed to arrest the police man, pointing out that “preliminary investigations have shown that the reason for the killing had been an old tribal “revenge” problem between both persons.   Kut, the center of Wassit Province , is 180 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (IT)
