Iraq’s PM Maliki decides to freeze activity Elections Commission

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has demanded the freezing of the activity of Iraq ’s High Independent Elections Commission, its Chairman, Faraj al-Haidary said on Thursday.   “We have received a letter on freezing the Commission’s activity, according to an instruction by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki,” Haidary told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Haidary, meanwhile said: “We shall continue our activity, according to Law No. 11 of 2007, as such a decision must be approved by the Parliament.”   SKH (PT) 706
