Soldier – gunman killed in clashes in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Both a soldier and a gunman were killed following clashes between a group of gunmen and military forces west of Mosul, security sources said here today.   The source told IraqiNews.com that the gunmen opened fire on a military checkpoint.   The clashes resulted in the two killings.   No other information was given.   Mosul, the center of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of the capital, Baghdad.
