Formation of a region or province is a constitutional right – Kana

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The head of Rafidain political bloc Unadim Kana said today that the formation of a province or a region is a constitutional right.   “This matter is guaranteed by the constitution, and the Christian Endowment has no right to interfere in this question,” he added in a statement to IraqiNews.com.   “Self-determination of any area is to be decided by its people through referendum or the councils that represent them,” he said.   The head of the Christian Endowment Raad al-Shamma’ told, earlier , IraqiNews.com that “the division of Iraq is not for the benefit of Iraq, so it should be one unified Iraq living with all its components and religions.”   “We do not believe in division. We, as Christians, our roots are in all parts of Iraq, and we do not want to close ourselves in one place,” he confirmed.   Parliament speaker Usama Nujaifi had many criticism for his statements during his visit to the United States when he said that the Sunnis component feels “depressed”, and it this case is not treated well by the government , the Sunnis might think of separation and demand a special region of their own.
