Iraq’s National Coalition announces support for Cabinet’s trimming, with exception of State Ministry for Women

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Political Commission of Iraq’s National Coalition has held a meeting in Baghdad on Monday night, expressing support for the trimming down of Iraq ’s Cabinet, insisting on the Ministry of State for Women Affairs, calling for changing it into an active ministry.   The decision was taken in a Coalition’s meeting, headed by its Leader, Ibrahim al-Jaafary and attended by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, as well as representatives of all political blocs, members to the Coalition, that expressed support for the trimming   down of the Cabinet, according to a statement by Jaafari’s office, received by IraqiNews.com news agency.   “The Coalition’s forces have issued a call to keep the State Ministry for Women Affairs, hoping to transfer it into an active ministry, able to achieve its missions, in such a way that copes with the role of women in building the new State of Iraq,” the statement stressed.   SKH (ST)   408
