URGENT / Baghdad’s Green Zone under Katyusha rocket attack

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: West Baghdad’s Green Zone, where the main Iraqi government’s offices, U.S. and British Embassies exist, has come under a Katyusha rocket attack on Monday, but losses were not known,” according to an Iraqi police report.   “Three Katusha rockets fell on the Green Zone on Monday morning,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that “the Iraqi security forces have defined the area, where the rockets were launched from, as southeast Baghdad’s Zaafaraniya district.”   The rocket attack on the Green Zone took place about one day after a surprise visit by the new U.S. Defense Secretary to Baghdad to discuss the issue of the withdrawal of the American forces from Iraq.   SKH (TS)/SR 772
