Tripartite Committee to prepare report on US extension – MP

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A tripartite Committee will discuss and submit its report on the continued presence of the U.S. forces in Iraq, a Kurdish Alliance MP said today.  MP Firyad Rawandouzi said to IraqiNews.com that the committee will submit its report to President Jalal Talabani.  He added that the committee will submit its report after two weeks, after establishing a common vision on this matter.  “If the security and military establishments think these forces should stay, we will have to abide by their wishes as they are the specialized authority, and so otherwise,” he added.  According to the security agreement signed between Baghdad and Washington in 2008, the U.S. forces should withdraw by the end of this year.
