Director of Salahal-Din’s Crimes Department escapes assassination

SALAHAL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: The Director of the Major Crimes Department of north-central Iraq ’s Salahal-Din Province , Lt-Brigadier, Ahmed Bedewi, has escaped an assassination attempt by unknown gunmen against his motorcade on Sunday, that wounded 3 of his guards north of the city of Tikrit , a security source reported.   “A group of unknown armed men have opened fire on the motorcade of the Director of Salahal-Din’s Major Crimes Department, Lt-Brigadier, Ahmed Bedewi, at Jughaifa village, 100 km to the north of Tikrit, but he escaped the assassination attempt,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   The source said that the attack had injured three of Bedewi’s guards and cause damage to a number of the motorcade’s vehicles.   Tikrit, the center of Salahal-Din, is 175 km to the north of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)
