Parliament discusses PM Maliki’s demand to trim his Cabinet

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament has started on Monday the discussion of Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki’s demand to trim his Cabinet to 29 instead of 43 ministries, al-Iraqiya Bloc’s Legislature, Mohammed al-Khalidy reported.   “The Parliament is discussing now (Monday) a demand by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, calling for trimming of his government to drop the number of the ministries to 29,” Khalidy told IraqiNews.com news agency, expressing expectation that “the demand would be accepted by the political forces.” Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, had sent a request to the Parliament on Sunday, demanding the trimming down of his Cabinet to 29 ministries, instead of 43 ministries.   SKH (TS)/SR 616
