Pro-government Sahwa (Awakening) element killed, another injured in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A pro-government Sahwa (Awakening) element has been killed and another injured in an explosive charge blast south of northern Iraq ’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Monday, a police director reported.   “An explosive charge blew off on Monday morning against a checkpoint of al-Sahwa (Awakening) Force in al-Rashad township, 35 km to the southwest of Kirkuk ,” Lt-Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency, killing an al-Sahwa element and wounding another.   Kirkuk is 280 km to the northeast of Baghdad .   SKH (PT) 673
