Non-implementation Arbil Agreement will lead to political collapse – Nujaifi

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Parliament Speaker Usama Nujaifi said today that “the political process is undergoing difficult stage because the partnership is not achieved”, calling the for implementing Arbil agreement, otherwise there will be political upheavals, as stated by Parliament Media Department.  Kurdistan President Massoud Barzani made an initiative to solve the political crisis on 16 September last to form a 8-12-man committee to start talks to solve the differences and discussing the national partnership government.  Nujaifi stressed, today during his meeting with deputy UN representative Jeffery Skortavich, “the importance of achieving national partnership and balance in administering the state,” pointing out that “the political process is moving through a difficult stage, because there are parties feel depressed for not achieving this partnership and not an active part in the political process.”  He called for “the necessity to implement the Arbil agreement , otherwise there will be political upheavals,” as well as amending the independent election commission law in order to keep it away from any governmental intervention.  On the other side, Skortavich announced that the UN Security Council will discuss in its coming session the relations between Iraq and Kuwait.  Both sides discussed the question of the Iranian opposition Ashraf Camp and the necessity to take the humanistic aspects into consideration.  Skortavic announced that the United Nations began taking steps in this regard.  “We have discussed this matter in Brussels and we notices a full conviction to end the camp question, taking into consideration Geneva accords and the non-use of force against its inhabitants, as well as finding a third country for refuge,” Nujaifi added.  RM (TI)/SR 615
