Iraqi Parliamentary Committee formed to investigate U.S. violations in Amara

MISSAN / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq Missan Province’s Governor, Ali Dawai, has said on Friday that a special parliamentary committee was formed to “investigate violations by the American troops in Amara, the center of Missan Province last Monday and Tuesday.   “A special committee was formed to investigate the U.S. air raids on Amara city by live ammunition,” Missan Governor Ali Dawai said, adding that the committee would arrive in Missan in few days to carry out its investigation.   Dawai said that “ Iraq ’s Commander-in-Chief had been requested to take necessary measures to prevent the repetition of such violations, that had created terror among the Province’s inhabitants and considered as   shear violation and aggression, against the terms of the Strategic Treaty, signed between Iraq and the United States .”   Amara had witnessed last Monday and Tuesday a shelling by U.S. warplanes, using live ammunition, on al-Ufiya and Abu-Rumma areas in central Amara, which the U.S. Army believes had been used by armed groups, to launch rockets on the Buteira Military Airpot, 5 km to the north of Amara, according to a security source.   Amara, the center of Missan Province , is 390 km to the south of Baghdad .   SKH (IT)   737
