Restrictions on produce imports into Kurdistan

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Kurdish Region Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources said today that there is a desire to depend on local products and totally prevent the importation of groceries and fruits, according to the electronic site of the Region’s Presidency.  The site quoted Jameel Sulaiman saying that the region will prevent importation of these products, taking into consideration that 22 kinds are not being imported into the region at present.  The aim of this prevention is to facilitate marketing the local products and improve their production quality.  RM (TP)/SR 499
