Iraq’s Parliament to discuss Law on Parties, Cabinet trimming – government’s program

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament is to discuss in its Saturday session the law on parties, Cabinet trimming and the government’s program, with the attendance of Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, a Parliament’s media source reported.   “The schedule of the Parliament’s 15 th session today (Saturday) includes the first reading of the Parties Law, the discussion of the Cabinet’s trimming, the government’s program, as well as the reports of the Parliament’s Security & Defense Committees about the Iranian bombardment of Iraqi territories in northern Iraq’s Kurdistan Region and the U.S. air raids on Babel and Missan Provinces,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that “today’s session would also discuss the Memo of Understanding (MOU) between Iraq and the European Union, regarding the strategic partnership in the field of energy, as well as the 2 nd reading of the project for the Industry & Minerals and the project for the UN Agreement’s law for Human Rights.”   The Saturday session had been postponed for half an hour due to the non-completion of the Parliament’s members attendance, as the total members who attended the session till the time of this report at about 11:00 local time, had reached 140 out of the Parliament’s 325 members, according to IraqiNews.com news agency correspondent.   SKH (IT)
