Call for armed groups to leave Najaf, Governor

NAJAF / IraqiNews.com: Najaf governor warned today all armed groups from disturbing the security of the city following US forces withdrawal, demanding them to leave the city.   Governor Adnan Al-Zurfi told IraqiNews.com that “the security forces did not alter their plans following US withdrawal, but increased its intelligence work in the areas where the armed groups worked against the American forces.   He stressed that these groups had their pretext of US military presence in the city, “so, now, if they are withdrawn, these groups have no justification to stay”.   “In case being arrested, they will charged according to the law”, he confirmed.   He pointed out that the security agreement governs the stay of these forces.   US forces handed last week its base to the Iraqi authorities.   These forces were under condensed attacks by the armed groups during the last three months. Two persons of these groups were arrested by Iraqi security forces.   RM (TP) 436
