Sport Stadium’s blast toll up to 2 dead, 7 injured

ANBAR / IraqiNews.com: The result of the explosion that took place inside Abu-Risha Sports Stadium in west Iraq’s Ramadi city on Friday night has reached 2 dead and 7 injured, including 2 policemen and Anbar Governor’s Sports Advisor, an Anbar police source reported on Saturday.   “The result of Anbar‘s 3 explosions inside and close to Abu-Risha Sports Stadium in southern Ramadi on Friday night has reached 2 killed and 7 injured, among 2 policemen and the Advisor of Anbar Governor’s Sports Affairs, Sadiq Jamil,” the police source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that Anbar’s Sports Advisor, who was among the injured persons, was present at Abu-Risha Sports Stadium during a soccer game, attended by a number of popular teams.   Ramadi, the center of Anbar Province, 110 km to the west of Baghdad, had been home for al-Qaeda organization until 2006.  At this time, the Province’s tribes turned against the organization and formed the so-called Sahwa (Awakening) forces that succeeded in restoring security to the Province.   SKH (TI)/SR 682
