Six wanted men arrested, explosive charges confiscated in Kirkuk

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A joint Iraqi Police and Iraqi Army force has detained 6 wanted men and confiscated a number of explosive charges in an inspection campaign southwest of northern Iraq ’s oil-rich city of Kirkuk on Wednesday, a Kirkuk Police Director reported.   “A Joint Police and Iraqi Army Force has detained 6 wanted men in an inspection campaign in a number of villages, belonging to al-Rashad township, 35 km to the southwest of Kirkuk on Wednesday,” Lt-Brigadier Sarhad Qader told IraqiNews.com news agency. Qader said that the Joint Force had also confiscated 7 explosive charges and 5 unlicensed vehicles during the campaign that continued till late Wednesday night.   “The detained persons had opened fire on the Joint Force and their clash with the force had injured one of the wanted men, who failed to escape and were detained.   Kirkuk is 280 km to the northwest of Baghdad .   SKH (ST)   1173
